The Halfway has been attracting visitors to it's beautiful location since the days of horse & carts.
The Hampton Halfway was first established in 1863 by a Mr. Michael Kelly and for many years was known as "Kelly's Halfway House", or "Kelly's Imperial Half-way House".
Throughout the years the Halfway has been reconstructed and it is now a modern day building, although some of the original structure can still be seen.
The original Halfway House located 2 miles Hampton side of the existing Halfway house.
